Commissions offer a unique opportunity to create something I would have never thought of on my own by challenging me to share the creative process with an individual unaware and unencumbered by the limitations of the the medium. Â It isn't my vision or technique that is the most important, but the process of realizing my clients vision and how he/she wants it presented.
ASPENS IN THE FALL

Four inserts for kitchen cabinets.
I had so much fun working with Elizabeth to bring her vision to life.  The branches of the beautiful aspen reach across her kitchen, creating an ambiance as transformative as the season that inspired them.  The colorful fall foliage of the aspen is a source of inspiration for many. Glass captures this natural beauty with a magical glow.

A repair/ rebuild of a pet memorial.
When Lynn's precious stained glass panel crashed to the floor she was devastated.  We worked together to redesign the panel and made it even better than the original.  She always wished that the blue eyes of her horse had been captured in the original.  After multiple shades of blue and a lesson in the shape of a horse's pupils, she was happy.  I had fun adding the black streaks to the mane and coming up with a better way to break up the background.  I started with a rubbing of the original, but the end product is so different!  I love the journey traveled when art is your companion!

Abstract Craftsman Door
I love Craftsman design, so I was thrilled when I got to design these panels for Liz. Â She loves blues and purples, but her husband was wanting warm colors, specifically orange. Â Liz won, but picked a gorgeous orange that captures the eye, in honor of her love for her husband. Â The clear bevel circles enhance the design, but also give her a "peephole" to look out of. Â To think she started out just wanting a traditional diamond repeated in each of the panels, and ended up with a custom design that reflects her style, favorite colors and relationship with her hubby. Â I love getting to know other humans though the creative process!
FUSED FISH FOR A CUSTOMER'S BEACH HOUSE
These whimsical fish make a great grouping on this beach house wall. Â The mounts I use allow you to hang the fish in any position you wish. Â I love the movement created with just a little shift in direction.
